Role Summary:

The Field Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and implementation of field-based projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on-time, within budget, and according to scope and quality of standards.  They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple field projects simultaneously from initiation through closeout.
  • Oversee on-site project execution, including field assessments, installations, inspections and commissioning activities LED Lighting and Lighting Controls Upgrades.
    • Lead and supervise electrical subcontractors, vendors, and utility representatives to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
    • Serve as the primary representative between clients and subcontractors to ensure strong communication and relationship management.
    • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and execution plans.
    • Maintain accurate records of progress throughout installation, prepare and communicate weekly status reports with internal team members.
    • Assist with material delivery and staging, when necessary.
    • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve field issues, ensure proper material is on-site for installation and compliance with project SOW, and assure all health and safety requirements are followed, i.e. lockout tagout.
    • Assist in electrical troubleshooting with assistance of subcontractors, when required.
    • Review project documentation, drawings, submittals, and field reports for accuracy and completeness.
    • Recommend changes to installation to increase efficiency.
    • Manage change orders, scope adjustments, and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
    • Perform various control systems startup / commissioning.
    • Field data collection, i.e. light levels pre/post when required.
    • Provide weekly project status reports to internal leadership
    • Adhere to company safety policies and industry best practices while performing field activities.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in practical field project management, construction management, engineering, or energy/technical project delivery.
  • High level of productivity, attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong track record managing field-based projects and successful completed installations with multiple stakeholders and moving parts.
  • Strong technical understanding of field systems, installations, or infrastructure projects (industry-specific experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to compose submittal packages.
  • Valid and Clean driver’s license required.
  • Ability to travel to project sites regularly.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and project tracking tools.
  • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to withstand prolonged periods standing, walking and climbing ladders
  • Ability to lift and move materials of 50lbs
